3D-AdViCE : Advanced 3D Vision for Complex Environments
Tuesday, 2 September 2025
About the Workshop
FULL DAY
As mobile robotics continues to evolve, the demand for intelligent and autonomous navigation in complex, unstructured environments has never been greater. At the core of this advancement lies 3D vision technology, which enables robots to perceive, interpret, and interact with the world in a spatially-aware manner. Unlike traditional 2D vision systems, 3D vision provides depth perception and geometric understanding, crucial for tasks such as obstacle avoidance, path planning, object recognition, and environment mapping. By integrating robust 3D vision capabilities, mobile robots can achieve higher levels of autonomy and adaptability, making them suitable for applications ranging from warehouse automation and disaster response to autonomous vehicles and exploration missions. This field continues to be a focal point of research, as scientists and engineers work toward more accurate, real-time, and energy-efficient solutions that empower robots to operate seamlessly in the real world. In this context, we present this full day workshop on advanced 3D vision applications for mobile robotics in complex environments i.e. 3D-AdViCE. The aim of this workshop is to help create a collaborative space where researchers, engineers, and developers can exchange ideas, challenges, and solutions and build connections to facilitate future collaborations and partnerships in the field of mobile robotics and 3D vision.
